Born in New York
and raised on the eclectic combination of Broadway
shows
and the Yankees, Adam Wilbur spent many an afternoon
roaming around
Greenwich Village drinking in the underground music
scene. After graduating
from Washington Jefferson College with a degree
in Political Science, Wilbur
went off to Europe expanding his experience and
savoring his final six
months of aimless freedom. Returning to NewYork,
Wilbur put his degree to work by joining Citizen
Action, a consumer lobbying organization. He did
field work all across the country garnering support
for The Clean Water Act, Hazardous Household Waste
Disposal, Protection of the old growth forests
and cleaning up the Boston Harbor.
After a series of jobs that helped hone his selling
skills, in 1996 Wilbur
finally settled into the radio industry, working
as an affiliate relations
representative at Fisher Entertainment. After two
years he was promoted to
Vice President and ran all aspects of syndication
related issues. Wilbur’s success marketing
and affiliating "John and Ken", "Ed
Tyll”, "The John and Jeff Show", "Back
to the Country", "Beyond the Beltway
with Bruce DuMont", "The Wake Up Show""Al
Bandiero's Jammin’ Party" and "Wireless
Flash” served as his apprenticeship for what
was to come next.
In 2001, Wilbur Entertainment
set up shop and its client roster quickly
filled with respected programs including "Doug
Stephan's Good Day" “When Radio Was” and "Lionel".
While continuing to work with established producers
and hosts Wilbur also seeks and develops newly
syndicated personalities. "The SpeedFreaks", "The
Tour Bus", “Lobster’s Rock Box” and “Live
Rich with David Bach” are exceptional shows
that Wilbur Entertainment brought to market.
As Wilbur remains on the cutting edge of providing
great radio content new voices will find their
way into expanding markets. The company
continues to strengthen it focus on molding affiliate
relations experts and is fast becoming recognized
as a leader in the development of the finest independently
syndicated radio shows, anywhere. |
